Bad newspaper! No biscuit!

Following a recent article in The Age regarding the honoring of same-sex adoptions in Australia (which I ranted about here), the Attorney General has replied with a letter to the editor:
It is wrong to say that adoptions of foreign children by same-sex couples will not be recognised in Australia ( The Age, 2/2). In fact, The Age was advised before publication that “if a same-sex couple wanted to go overseas and adopt in compliance with the laws of that country, we would not stop them from doing that. However, they are not allowed to use the Government’s inter-country adoption program. None of the counties with which we have an agreement permits same-sex couples to adopt.”
Philip Ruddock, Attorney-General, Canberra
There you go. We’re only a little bit evil.
